RIW UPDATE: First August Payments & Clothing Allowance

Published on Monday, August 02, 2021

The state Department of Human Services (DHS) is aware that RI Works (RIW) payments were not issued on Sunday, August 1. FIS, the State’s business partner that manages these payments for DHS, was not able to process these RIW payments then. They have been processed and have been available to RIW recipients on their EBT cards since August 2nd.

UPDATE as of 8/10/21: Children between the ages of four and 18 who receive RIW had a $100 clothing allowance deposited to their EBT card on August 6. Households will only receive one clothing allowance per year for each eligible child. For the first time, children under age 4 who are receiving RIW are also eligible for a clothing allowance. Their $100 clothing allowance will be issued in December.
